"Robotics Is A New Media Technology"

We believe that autonomous robots are a new media technology for exhibition making, event production, design, and the fine and scenic arts. Autonomy brings in original qualities in form and content.

For the first time, for example, machine motion in space (spatial autonomy) becomes controllable and thus a new choreographic tool in the hand of the content provider beyond random movements or teleoperation.
 

"The Medium Is Not The Message"

The challenge is to reveal the peculiarity of this media technology, to liberate robots from stereotype hulls, to avoid gadget effects, and to work creatively with their constraints. The goal is to find sustainable forms of artistic and scenographic expression, develop novel interaction languages and investigate new machine morphologies.

The mission of our Nurobot Artefacts activities is to explore this uncharted terrain. We are looking for interdisciplinary collaborations with this purpose.
